Bike sales vroom 32% in Nov

Led by market leader Hero Honda, two-wheeler manufacturers posted an impressive growth in sales during the month of November on the back of favourable bank lending rates and a good response to new launches. Hero Honda, which commands a 59 per cent market share, stated that its sales rose 32 per cent to 381,378 units from 289,426 units sold in the same month a year ago. Sales for the November period are the best ever,” Anil Dua, senior vice-president (sales & marketing), Hero Honda, said. Analysts said improving sentiments and a pick-up in overall economic activity helped two-wheeler manufacturers to post good sales in November. They expect the healthy trend to continue in the remaining months of the current year. Chennai-based TVS Motor Company sold 106,836 units in November, a 38 per cent growth over the 77,491-unit sale posted in the similar period last year. However, exports for the manufacturer of the twin-spark plug kitted Flame motorcycle dipped 33 per cent to 14,008 units.
