Ashok Leyland to open four outlets in Punjab

The company today inaugurated its new outlet, spread over 10,000 square feet, at Patiala. Dasari further added that the company was substantially adding to its current capacity of 10 billion vehicles per annum, with the Greenfield Uttarakhand plant scheduled to go on stream in March 2010. He said its initial capacity would be 50,000 units per annum. "The new plant, which will be an integrated manufacturing facility, will bring the company closer to the north Indian market where operations are expanding," he said. Dasari added that the company was readying itself for the launch of new products and that these vehicles will be tailor made for specific applications and are designed for better profitability.
